Carestream Drivers And Updates

This article will cover how to use the CS 1200 and CS 1500 Intraoral Cameras to take images in TDO.

Detailed Instructions

1. Install the TWAIN driver for this device. If you don’t have the installation files for the driver, you can find them here[External Link].

Note: TDO does not furnish device drivers nor assist in their installation. Contact Carestream Support if you need help installing the drivers for your device.

2. Launch Acquire in TDO.

3. Click on the ’Scan’ button icon, this will bring up a list of TWAIN devices accessible by the computer.

4. Select the CS 1200 TWAIN or CS 1500 TWAIN (for CS 1500 intraoral camera) driver and click ’Select’. This will launch the CS 1200 software or CS 1500 software (for CS 1500 intraoral camera).

5. Acquire your image. (Only one image at a time can be sent to TDO)

6. In TDO’s Acquire window, select a category or categories under which to save your image, then click ’Save’.

When sending your Carestream RVG 6100 sensor in for repair it is important to include the calibration files with your sensor. Our Carestream sensor repair technicians need the calibration file in order to properly test your Carestream x-ray sensor to ensure that there are no artifacts or anomalies in the images that your repaired Carestream sensor produces.

First it is important to know what you are looking for. Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files are named as follows:

  • ZAGQ123.Gain
  • ZAGQ123.Msk
**Note: ZAGQ123 in the file names above will reflect the serial number of your sensor. If you have multiple Carestream RVG 6100 sensors in your office be sure that the file names you are sending to Sodium Dental have the correct serial number in the file name. The serial number should match the sensor that you have in for your Carestream RVG 6100 sensor repair.

The three file names above are what we are looking for and are what Sodium Dental technicians need in order to properly test your Carestream RVG 6100 x-ray sensor repair.

Using the original Disc (CD) to email the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files:

  1. Insert disc into workstation
  2. Press the “Start” button or Windows logo button in the bottom left hand corner of the Windows toolbar
  3. Click on “My Computer” (or “Computer” if running Windows 7 and above)
  4. Double click on your disc drive to view the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files
  5. Verify the serial number in the calibration files matches the Carestream RVG 6100 sensor you have in for repair
  6. With your mouse: click, drag, and highlight both of the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files
  7. Open a new email in your email program
  8. Click and drag the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files over to your new email
  9. Send this email to [email protected]
  10. That’s it!

If your original Carestream RVG 6100 calibration file disc (CD) is not available use the following steps to retrieve the calibration file from a computer.

Retrieving Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files from a computer workstation:

**Note: In order for this to work it is important that you are on a computer that has had the Carestream RVG 6100 sensor installed.
  1. Click the “Start” button in the bottom left hand corner of the Windows toolbar
  2. Click on “My Computer” (or “Computer” if on a Windows 7 or newer computer)
  3. Double click on the C: drive
  4. In the C: drive look for the “documents and settings” folder and double click it with your mouse to open. *On Windows 7 computers and newer open the “ProgramData” folder and skip to step 6.
  5. Then look for the “all users” folder and double click it with your mouse to open
  6. Then double click on the “TW” folder to open
  7. Then double click on the “RVG” folder to open
  8. Once inside the “RVG” folder you will see the calibration files
  9. With your mouse: click, drag, and highlight both of the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files
  10. Open a new email in your email program
  11. Click and drag the Carestream RVG 6100 calibration files over to your new email
  12. Send this email to [email protected]
  13. That’s it!
